ALICE COOPER

Before it was the stage name of Vincent Furnier, Alice Cooper was the name of the band formerly known as Nazz. Fronted by Furnier, Alice Cooper designed their sound to shock their audience through theatrics and forceful heavy metal. Purely distinctive with raw, simple riffs and melodies drawn from show tunes and ‘60s guitar pop, even when the band experimented with psychedelia and art rock, the group was rock & roll at its core.

In 1969, the young Alice Cooper band began a run of shows at the Whisky A Go Go that was a precursor to what would become a multi-million selling band fronted by the man who would become known as the “Godfather of Shock Rock.”
